Default if having an idle problem

today i finally figured out wat my idle problem was. It took me 2 weeks to figure it out. Well i went to change my whole TB today and found where the coolant line runs in was clogged. On a friends TB i found that inside where the coolant goes that there is a screw type washer that holds in a spring was unscrewed. Screwed his in a put it on mine and i was amazed cuz it idled perfectly. I was throwing a IACV cel and i replaced it only for it to do it again. Turns out the computer cant catch that it was clogged and since no coolant got to the IACV it threw that code. I suggest checking that and making sure it is not clogged. Hope this helps

Interesting. Was a washer or spring clogging the line? Where is the offending object normally located? Do you have a picture or diagram?

The weblink brings you to the online parts company website not to a description of the part.

this part is located on the bottom of the TB on civics 92-95. A hose off the head leads to this part where inside is a spring. the coolant flows into this part and out to the IACV. Mine was clogged with calcium buildup. As far as i can figure out the coolant flows in and heats the spring which causes it to slow the idle of the car down.

just check this part on your TB. Make sure its not loose on the inside or it is not clogged. I did this and now have no problems
