Default I'm retarted... code reader help.

Okay I just bought an Actron OBDII Pocket Scanner to read my cel's. (CP9125) I followed the instructions:
1. Turn ignition key to off. (ok, did it)
2. Locate and plug in data link connector. (it is right under the fuse box, ok it is plugged in)
3. Observe display toggles between "pocket" and "scan" (the screen isn't showing anything so I am stuck at this step.)

Any help or do I have to go back to advance tomorrow and ask them to show me how to use it?

When you plug it in it says to turn the ign to on without starting it and it still does not do anything. After it did not do anything I started it anyway and it still did not do anything.

Your unit is not getting power through connector. Verify that connector is properly seated. Also, does the unit have a battery installed?

I pushed it on as hard as I could really, it clicked in. I checked to see if it needs a battery and it doesn't say so and it does not have a spot to open it to add one. I do think it is a power problem though, is there a fuse that my be blown?

Check fuse #43 in the under-hood fuse/relay box (see picture).

Ironically enough, that was blown and the car wouldn't run. I replaced it and it runs now. In my manual it says that it is fuse #10 - 7.5a - Interior Light.

The picture shows the pinout for the connector of my Actron CP180. Also make sure that none of the ground or battery pins is bent or missing in the DLC link under your dash.
