Default Induction Kits and Air Filters? Civic EK recommendations?

Hi all,

I have a 1997 Honda Civic EK. Having done some cosmetic changes I'm ready for changing some parts to improve performance. I've been researching what kits and filters are good (AEM and K&N seem to be the consensus, and worth the extra cash when compared against unbranded versions), but I'd be a fool not to ask you guys.

So.... what Air Filters are recommended by the forum here? Which ones are compatible with EKs (K&N don't list EKs but CXs and DXs)? Are there any does and don'ts?

Also, I believe induction kits are not recommended for Honda without VTEC, is there any truth in this? If not, which are good, reliable, compatible etc?

  • I would honostly suggest just not even buying intake as its a complete waste of money IMO, with the little gains you get from it it is not really worth it
  • Since your gonna get one though an ebay one would work fine with a AEM or K&N Filter on it [Throw away the Ebay filter]
    • Ebay intakes are plain and gay looking lol so if you want good looking one get name brand
  • Get AEM its same as K&N But looks better.
  • Throw away the sticker that comes with it DO NOT put it on your caar!!!!!!!!!!
  • You can turbo or super chagre almost any engine......
  • lol and what model civic you have?
