Default Instrument Panel Help

Howdy,

Ive got a 98 Honda Civic EX Coupe Vtech 1.6L With some after market instrument panel and lights, But the lighting part of it shorted out and died. Im not sure if this is the right place to ask, But does anyone know where to get a Lighting kit or a new instrument kit that looks exactly like below; Thanks guys. Honda's for life.

im sure ebay has some. but i recommend taking those stuff off and rolling with stock

Well i need those instrument panels because they match the gauges for my turbo im getting ready to install this week.

here's an idea why don't you buy a gauge that's black instead.

ditch the rice, go stock and get some LED bulbs in it if you want to customize things up a little.

I guess so. What do you mean by LED Bulbs. Different colors? Can you provide examples?

You can't really tell right now I suppose because of those gauge covers you have on, but the gauge cluster from the factory is backlit with incandescent bulbs. You can swap those out for the color LEDs of your choice and achieve different colors when the dash lights are on (in the dark only, of course... during daytime the sunlight would overpower the backlight on the gauge cluster).

Those gauge cover kits shorting out isn't very uncommon.


But before you do anything you should check the instrument panel fuse under the dash. Also, test the dimmer switch on the dashboard by removing it and jumping the wire harness on the back. If it works when you jump the harness then the dimmer switch has gone bad.
