Intermittent check engine light

My check engine light goes on after 5-10 minutes of driving and stays on til I stop. Then it resets or something and there is no code when I check. I figure O2 sensor but that's that's just a guess. Any ideas?

the ecu is suppose to store that information regardless of how long the light stays on maybe its the ecu itself that is the problem ???
