Intermittent Noise When Running the Vehicle
Hi all,
Recently my Honda Civic (Year 2001, Mileage 48000) has started producing a weird noise. It usually comes from front right near the tire. The noise is kind of screech and is intermittent. It does not come when engine is running but car isn't. So when I opened the bonnet while ignition was on, it didn't help a bit.
Interestingly, the if I brake whenever the sound appears, it goes away.
Any pointers? Let me know if you need more information.
Thanks
nku.

Most likely, it's a brake pad dragging a little. Inspect the brakes, they may be almost worn out. While you have the wheel jacked up off the ground, turn it by hand and see if it squeaks any.
ORIGINAL: mk378
