iPod player won't play
Hi everyone,
I've been playing my iPod in my brand new 2011 Civic Coupe but for some reason, it's not working today. It's been fine up until now. I can't find any help on line so was hoping someone here might be of help.
The display works fine. It shows what song is on (480/1000) and shows the name of the song, album and artist but there is no sound coming out.
Does anyone know what the issue might be?
Thanks in advance,
NKB

I'm not sure you'll get much of a response here with such a new car.
However, you can troubleshoot the ipod side pretty easily.
1. Does the ipod work with a headphone with no issues?
2. Does the ipod work with an external speaker system designed for ipods (my surround sound system has an input for ipods that doesn't use the usb port)?
3. Does the ipod work with your computer connected to the usb port?
If you answer yes to all 3 of the above questions, you have essentially eliminated the ipod as the problem since it is playing correctly in its 3 possible configurations.
Then the problem lies with the head unit on your '11 civic which is under warranty and should be repaired or replaced by Honda. I'd go for the replacement myself.

Yes to all three however, I plugged my husband's iPod Touch into the USB in the car and it worked just fine.
Strange how it would work fine in the morning and then not work later that same day.
The iPod itself works fine until I plug it into the car.
