i think it even more funny that you guys that are on here have the basic mods and call yourselfs pro honda builders. half of you that says this **** probably live at home, and mommy and daddy pay for all your mods. i hate to sound like that but most of you are just smartass's. yes it didnt make since at first to buy it and the auction was very blick on the info it gave. i had seen other chip in other cars that used the same format but for 12 bucks i really didnt care to spend it, but any tech will tell you to research the part before you buy and for once i didnt... god strike me dead for making a mistake i am only human. you guys make a tech sound like a genius, we all are not. sorry to burst your alls bubble. but for real most of you are just to cocky for this ****

 

Now aren't you Mr. Friendly. Thank you for your sly comments on how you must "know" us. So I'll start a definitive list:

1. Who called themselves "pro Honda builders" other than yourself by stating you're supposedly a Honda technician? You don't have to own a highly modified civic to become a "pro Honda builder". The one thing a technician should be excellent at should be diagnosing a problem.

2. The reason most of have basic mods is simply because it's a civic. Or in other words, would you spend your life savings to simply heavily modify a civic when you can start with a MUCH better platform.

3. No, I do not live at home with mommy and daddy. But i do own an apartment that I pay for myself and am putting myself through college.

4. Yes, I've been called a smartass quite a few times, but the only reason I'm called that is because of people's lack of intelligence and ignorance from the truth.

5. You originally stated that the ebay auction was very vague and you considered it to be a trick, but then again, you did buy it. And you bought it realizing you weren't even going to install it.

6. No, mommy and daddy did not endorse any of my "mods".

7. You stated that most techs will tell you to research something beforehand, but then again, you are a tech, so was something lost in translation?

8. Learn how to spell and type.

9. If you're going to insult people via internet, try new ways rather than just typing insult after insult.

10. Did you even use the search feature on this site? If you had, you'd realize that people should already know this subject considering it's been posted before.


If you want any more information or internet forum ownage, just contact the administrators because they won't be pleased to see new members cursing and causing a scene.

 

let get some facts straight

1. i am not a honda tech, i am a automotive tech certified by ase and i-car. I as well put myself through college at wyotech years ago and now am a manager at a body and customization shop i do custom metal fabrication, custom paint, and automotive repairs. i said "pro honda builders" cause thats what most of you act like. yes you dont have to have a highly modified honda to be a pro and what it matter if i am a tech to diagnose a thread on a forum that was to info about a chip that was what i was diagnosing.

2. i stated that cause it is true most members have basic mods. but to put 5-8 grand into a civic for chassis, engine and body is not a life savings and not bad compared to some of the cars i have built and seen built for 15-30 grand now thats a life saving. to spend that on civic to get into racing and the car bug is still not bad

3.i glad to hear there are young people that don't rely on their parents for every thing and are still concered with education in this day of age (not being a wise ***)

4.as for being a smartass i have been could one too but i believe this whole thread was taken out of context from the get go

5.yes i did state that but i had already recieved it before realizing i was not going to install it.

9. i was returning to the insult i received on a thread that was to be informational and a discussion topic i did not known there had been threads on this topic as i am a new member as i stated before. and the thread was taken out of context again in my opinion

10. read #9 and also i believe that we all have acted a little like a$$holes seeing that we are all just enthusiasts of honda and should not just be bashing on every thing some one else who is not as informed on the hondacivicforum as others has said or just tried to inform other that may not have known. the thread was really started to just start conversation of how there are scams out there that others may not know and may even install it and then ruin a good motor and thats what it was for

in reply to the administrators not being pleased i think they would not be pleased with any of this bashing and downing other honda enthusiasts cause in actuality this site was probably create to bring together honda fans and discuss these type of ordeals.
in ending i am adult to say my bad for my action but we really need to rethink why this site is here for

 

I pay for all my mods myself. I live with my dad, but that's only because for my first two years of college i'm going to the community college down the road because it's a good community college (most of the professors also work at UCF), and I have a 100% scholarship that will pay for all of it.

The reason everyone's being a jerk about it is because we get tons of newbs who ask about a $12 dollar eBay chip, and eventually we get sick of people asking about. Sorry we were mean, but from reading your first post it was pretty safe to assume you were another one of these kids. The spelling and grammar from your first post could also back up this assumption. Also, if you had searched or looked at the stickys, you would know that this topic has been discussed over 100+ times. If you see all those threads, you will understand why it is annoying.

And with my being a smartass, i'm a smartass and that's just the way I am. And after my first sarcastic comment I was just joking with Apostle, not really making fun of you.

I had really forgotten what the topic of the thread was. We were just joking around. I wasn't making fun of you at all. I didn't mean to at least. I was just trying to come up with ways to out rice the ricey comments Trust was making.

I can understand blowing 12 bucks. I do crap like that all the time. And from your posts I gathered that you knew it was a waste anyway, and knew what you were doing.

thank you all, for realizing that i not just some punk with no common sense. its cool we can all see things in the light now and help one another out now. and Apostle how you like the new civic that you have. i painted one awhile back black on top and sunburst orange on bottom with a white hand pinstripe and i really liked the design of the whole car but was wondering about the performance like in turns and launches when dragin. cause my wife is thinking of getting one cause she thinks their "cute" yeah. With the whole smartass thing most guys that have more intelligence than others are usually smartass's and i am no different. i was wondering if any of you have tried ff drift with your civic's i have lately with my hatchback and man its a blast but my tires are not loving it and need a camber kit. but thought i'd just see how many are trying it.
for real if any of you need help with paint or any fabrication hit me up i have a lot of friends that hit me up and i never mind so its no different for fellow enthusiasts.

 

lol, i get the smartass thing from my mom. she's pretty hilarious about it.

in that case, i had a question about paint. recently i attempted to touch up some spots on my car. I bought the spray automotive paint and some clear coat from advance auto parts. i cleaned the car good, and sanded down the areas where I was painting. Then I painted a few layers of the color, and a few layers of clear coat. Well, the colors there, but the paint doesn't shine and i sware I don't know what to do now. I've tried polishing compound and wax but i just can't get it to shine like a normal auto paint finish. Any ideas?
