Hi all. I got a 2006 Civic LX coupe. Just got it and starting to work on it. I just made a custom shor ram air intake and after the install im having some issues.

When driving around 3000 rpm im getting resitance, instead of smooth ride, the car jerks a little. looks like its choking.

also one in a while it stall out, when i push and hold the clutch while driving, or when im stopped. just chokes out and dies.

i thought the air intake woudl let it breate better, but it seems to be the opposite.

i got the hoses connected correctly just like any aftermarket kit. and the maf adapter connected as well. i have it connected close to the top of the intake, closte to the coupler and throttle body. would that be a problem. shoudl it be connected lower on the intake, by where the filter sits.

just tring to figure this out as i dont want to go and waste $200 on an intake whic i think will do the same as this one,

please help.

 

The shape of the pipe the MAF mounts in is critical. Most of the air flowing does not actually touch the sensor, so the size of the pipe must be designed to calibrate for the air that bypasses it. You can't just mount a MAF into some arbitrary pipe.
