Default Jdm d15 help

I have a 1998 JDM D15 NON V-Tec motor in my Civic. I meant to change the T-belt, but sadly put it off until it stripped out and bent a bunch of valves. So - I was thinking about putting another head on the motor - BUT which one????? A D15 is a rare engine on this side of the Pacific. The style of my motor is like the domestic D16Y7 used in and has the 1996 up with the dip stick at the crankshaft pulley end. I have a D15B7 head, but it is the older style (out of a 1994 Civic). I also have a D16Y7 head. What about gaskets???
I'd like to sincerely thank anyone with some insight.

I would put the D16y7 head on. Any D series head gasket would work.

Your information was 100% correct. I slipped the D16Y7 head on (in under 4 hours) and it is running like a top AGAIN Interestingly, it still required the 103 tooth belt. Thanks again!! gjb149

Default Exact same situation but cant find info.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but i have the exact same scenario. I have the d15b like the y7. I bought it to replace my y7 that spun a crank bearing. The y7 had a brand new head on it. Im trying to find info but all i get is about the other d15 (dipstick in the middle). What is difference between the y7 and my d15 head? Cam also, is it different?

Default My reason

Ive put about 8,000 miles on the d15b. It has symptoms of a bad exhaust valve. Tested it. Im just trying to figure out if i can use and benefit from using the y7 head and cam (no cost just gasket) or have the existing d15b head rebuilt ($$$$). Also, gjb149 if u r still out there, how did it run afterward? Which cam gear did u use? I do have an adjustable gear but since i cant find any posts about this swap with THIS engine i would have no clue what to set it to.
