Default Just Put In Skunk2 Shifter, Question

I put in a Skunk2 short shifter on my 96 EK with D-series linkage, but the metal pieces with different ends don't fit between the shifter and the fork in the linkage. Can I just go buy O-rings and stick em between like the stock shifter? (Right now I just have washers between them, gotta do it soon!)

To me it looks like the forks are bent inwards, so I'm thinkin get something to pry em open jusst enough to stick in the shifter with the metal pieces, then slide the bolt though and tighten. But I don't wanna break it!

The 2 pieces under the bolt are the pieces that go into the sides of the shifter (between shifter and forks) and the washers go on the outside (big metal cylinder piece not used)

Well Skunk2 just got back to me, they said I have to bend the fork back so it's square again, hope I don't break it

Can't remember, last year (believe it was summer time) I put in an eBay short shifter. Was actually veryyy nice considering I got the shifter, Type R boot and black Type R shift **** for under $70 CDN (never grinded, shorter than stock). The Skunk2 one kills it tho lol, even shorter shift distance, and I like the dual bend alot more than single (my old short shifter was single).

Gunna try to seperate the forks just enough to fit in the shifter, slide the bolt through and never touch it again lol.
