knock senser

Default knock senser

hello. i have a 1996 honda civic ex. and i need to change the knock sensor, whats the best way on bout getting ot it from the bottom or from the top? what size is the knock sensor the new one is 1 1/16" . can you get to it with a deep socket under the car? or should i remove the intake? thank you.

just drive the car up on car ramps and you can reach it from under the car its right below the intake manifold.

i know were it is but i dont think i can get on it with a wrench and i think the wire harness is in the way . is the old sensor the same size as the new one?

yea same size, unplug the plug and move the wire harness out your way, it isnt a hard job to change

i got under there with a socket but i cant seam to break it free.

use a pipe, or use a deep well socket that will fit over your ratchet handle and add a couple of extensions to it and use it for a cheater bar.
