I just recently replaced my knock sensor on my d16y8.... I'm pretty sure it's on the same location for the b16.

Just a heads up, those little bugger's are pricey... Damn thing cost me $140 to replaced

It's screwed into the back of the block, above and to the left (from the driver's perspective) of the oil pressure switch. Make sure the wire is securely connected first before deciding it needs replaced.

Ok I just got my car back from the shop where my motor was rebuilt . They told me that the check engine light was on and that all the connectors were connected or whatever . It was rebuilt in Va and I am stationed in Ny and I had to drive it all the way back up here . I didn't get on it one time while on the highway back because of the break in or whatever . When I got close to my house I decided to see if my VTEC would engage and it didn't I reved all the way to 6000 and no vtec . My motor is a 98 gs-r and there are 2 plugs not plugged in on the back of my motor is there any way that anybody can help me out with this situation . I need to know where the plugs plug into and how to make my check engine light go off . THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

The ECU will not engage the VTEC unless it sees that everything is OK and the light is out. This is called "limp home mode". Pull the codes again and if it is still the knock sensor code then you should concentrate on that part and its wiring.
