Unhappy live in the USA but need canadian parts

so my ELD went bad. and i tried to purchase a fuse box through the dealership to only have them tell me that my vin # came up as Canadian. And so i have to go to canada for parts. why cant i just swap a good ole USA fuse box for my old one? if i do will it damage my electrical system? im desperate here i have zero intentions of getting rid of my car. none. i just need to know if i can maybe swap american parts for broken canadian ones?

What's an ELD? And I wouldn't think a canadian fuse box would make any sort of difference..

The ELD code is often false, there's really nothing wrong. Unless your CEL is staying on and the only code is ELD, don't worry about it.

The fuse box should be the same. The only real difference between American and Canadian electrics is that the latter has DRL, and I think all of that is under the dash.
