Location of PS pump
My daughter's Civic wagon with 1.6 litre twincam has steering that is almost impossibly hard to turn. That leads me to believe it should have power steering but I cannot find a power steering pump. There is snow on the ground here in the Atlanta, GA area and I don't really want to have to get down in it to look under the car. But I cannot believe a Honda would be that hard to steer with manual steering.
Can anyone help me?

Knowing the model year would help a lot here. I think starting in 2006 (I don't know a lot about the newer models though), they were fitted with electric power steering. From 1996 up until then, almost all had hydraulic power steering. Before 1996, the DX models were generally manual steering (but no twin cams there).
If it has hydraulic power steering, power steering pump would be on the top front of the engine. There's also going to be a reservoir on the left fender right near it.
When manual steering is becomes harder to turn, there would be something wrong with the rack or the column. Lift both front wheels off the ground and turn the steering wheel to check for any binding.
