Default lock cylinder jammed/key does not turn

I recently purchased a 1999 honda civic dx, and now I am having ignition issues. My key goes into the ignition and unlocks the steering wheel, will not move past the locked position. I need to get the key to turn one notch so I can remove lock cylinder. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can go about this without having to call a locksmith or drill it out?
Thanks, ACE

Remove the switch assembly from the back side of the cylinder and try again, maybe it is the switch that is jammed not the cylinder.
