So I have owned this for years...1992 vx 263000 miles 120000 on the d15z replacement motor. Runs great at idle it does vibrate the exhaust a little hard.. So the issue is really that I know something is up because my shift light will work sometimes and sometimes not and i am losing abot 10-15mpg. Last time the shift light didn't work the check engine light was on and it was a oxy sensor(lost 10-15mpg then) got it back after replacement.. This time it has no check engine light...
What i have replace to try to get better MPG is:
Spark plug, cap, and rotor Did time it also... New oem oxy sensor. New fuel pump,fuel pressure reg, (timing belt and water pump have 40k on them)..
My thought is it is something sending the wrong signal do to the shift light not working.. The fuel injectors are 263k old??? , But like I said it runs great just a little hard idle that sakes the exhaust, but you don't feel the ruff idle in the car... Please give me some ideas to look into...

Don't know what to tell you since engine light is not on, but gas price did increase in the last few weeks. lol

 

you should probably get your injectors cleaned or replaced and check fuel tank pressure. sounds like you replaced just about everything, but losing 15 mpg is pretty insane.

If it is driving all normal then i would assume there is a leak somewhere.
