Hi all,

I have an 08 Civic in which I installed aftermarket headlights for both the low and high beams. Yesterday the driverside low beam light exploded and shattered throughout the housing.

Is there any easy way to get all the pieces out? Is it safe to just leave it in there and replace the bulb?

you can remove the headlight and shake it upside down to get all the glass out, but it wouldnt hurt anything if it was left in. also a tip DONT TOUCH THE NEW BULBS WITH YOU FINGERS.

 

Halogen bulbs will explode like that if you get anything at all on the glass part during installation, especially fingerprints. Or maybe they were just lousy bulbs to begin with.

 

Hi, thanks for the replies. I was very careful to not touch the bulb. Either I accidentally touched it or they were just crap. They were $20CDN per pair.

When you say shake it, you mean take the whole housing out? Isn't that a difficult thing to do by myself?
