Default Mad wheel hop...help!!!

Wassup guys, ever since i got my car a couple of weeks ago when the tires start to spin i get crazy amounts of wheel hop...like im scared im gonna break somen. its pretty bad when i grab 2nd hard too, and trying to launch is out of the question. what could be causing this? my motor mounts look to be in decent shap but i cant really tell about the rear one. would enegery suspension motor mount inserts fix this or should i replace with stock, then add inserts??? thanks guys

Sound like a bad rear mount. Have fun replacing it. While it's a doable job, there's little room to work in.

In general it sounds like you need new motor mounts. I had wheel hop too and I am putting hasport motor mounts in mine once I get the motor back. Should take alot of the wheel hop away. Through some research its seems to be the best bet in getting rid of wheel hop.

You can replace them yourself, though you have to work under the car and remove some big bolts. So having a lift and an impact wrench makes it a lot easier. It should not involve more than 1 hour of labor at a shop.

Three years ago, I replaced the front and rear mounts in my Prelude and installed energy suspension polyurethane motor mount inserts. This eliminated my wheel hop on hard launches, but after the engine has warmed up and the idle drops to ~700RPM I have a vibration (it fells like a sewing machine) because the inserts have essentially made the mounts 'solid'. This vibration is only at idle and sometimes causes a 'frequency vibration' that makes my hood, front bumper, and the sunroof (only when open) rattle. I like the slight vibration at idle because it makes the motor seem meaner, but the occasional frequency vibration rattles get annoying in stop and go traffic.
