Default map sensor ?

HOW OFTEN DOES THE MAP SENSOR GO OUT ON A CIVIC? I have a 94 civic that is bogging out when I try to throttle up. can this be the map sensor? I unplug the map sensor and the car turns off. if the sensor was bad, unplugging it would make no defferance right? If it's turning off, wouldn't that mean the sensor is working? PLEASE HELP. i'm running out of options!!

I put new plugs and wires. I bought the car not running, it had a broken belt. I put a new belt and had the head recond. and new valves. The car started right up, but has it gets warm I try to throttle and the car boggs down then slowly trys to put up speed. but eventually losses all power and dies. I was told the map sensor but I'm not sure if thats the problem.

True, the engine will bog considerably if you unplug the MAP sensor or even die in your case, but if the sensor was faulty, then the engine check light would probably come on. To me it sounds like your timing might be off just a slight bit. Try advancing the valve timing a little bit (make sure that the cams are right where they're supposed to be) but it sounds like the timing is off. I'm no expert, but it sounds kinda right.

Also, check your fuel system out for problems if that wasn't the case.
