Window Motor Broke, Repair?
Whilst rolling up my power window after a toll stop, I heard a grinding sound, then my window stopped going anywhere and I could hear the motor just spinning. I could pull the window up and down just fine, but it wouldn't go anywhere. I took the door panel off when I got home and discovered that the cable on the motor had frayed and snapped.
Can I purchase a new window motor and regulator and switch it out myself, or would it be more wise to take it to a shop and pay them oodles of money?
I'm fairly comfortable with repairs, as long as it doesn't involve any sort of welding or drilling. I've got a 98 Civic LX. Thanks a ton everyone!

i would advise u to repair it urself. Ebay has new motors for liek $30.........or if u are slick u can ride to the junkyard and get 1 for practicaly free.........it aint goin to be hard to fix it.....ur simply replacing 1 with another 1
I suppose the motor is fine, it is the cable and the piece that the cable wraps around that has broken. If I get a new motor will the cable come with it, or is that purchased seperately?

Is the regulator the long metal piece on the right of the image? Looking at this image it appears as if the cable should come with the motor.
