Window Repair Questions
I've had some issues with my windows rolling up and down. So I decided to replace everything that has to do with process. Is that stupid? I wanted to include replacing the guide that hold the window in place. Is that unnecessary as well?
I had issues with my window coming off track, I tightened everything up as outlined in the TSB below. I've since determined that I need a new regulator. Regulators are pricey, and I won't be buying a used one since they'd probably be bent as well. For now a little wind noise doesn't bother me.
Rather than throw money at it, I'd suggest tightening the channels up, and lubing the channels with silicone spray.
The TSB applies to 96-00 coupes.

The drivers side window routinely comes out of the track. It's obvious that the previous owner tried to fix it as well because the tracks look slightly bent. Ive tried lubing the tracks and adjusting them in and out to try to minimize the lateral movement but to no avail. Ive already bought regulators (the passenger is giving me problems too) but Im just wondering if I should replace everything.
