People,

Civic 2001 EX, 140,000 miles, car sometimes turns over OK but does not start like it used to- immediately. So I turn key off, then try again and turns over and over then starts. I first thought fuel pump, but car runs great once it's started. But a mechanic put a scanner on it and found no codes, so he suggested to replace 2 relays "under the dash".

I wasnt there personally so I couldnt ask him to elaborate, but do our civics of that year show this symptom where such relays are the culprit? Im thinking the MAIN relay, and maybe another(?). Is this a typical civic issue? (he said he has seen this enough time to say yes. )

Found out he mentioned both fuel pump and starter relays. (why starter??)
