Default Mobil 1

I've read some posts using the "Search" function, but any new input on using Mobil 1 in my '06 Civic? After a few oil changes every 3,000 miles using Castrol GTX 5W20 I just switched to Mobil 1 5W20. The engine seems to run a bit "tighter" if that makes sense and seems noticably smoother and more effortless cruising at about 80 mph. Just wondering if there's any objective backing to using synthetic over petroleum based engine oil. Thanks.

From what I've read from reviews, Mobil 1 has some of the best synthetics out there... + it lasts longer.

Ya, I ran royal for a few changes in my old 4runner and it seemed to make no difference vs. castrol syntec (which I've recently learned is not all that great...). It seemed like the price of the royal purple was its most noticable difference. (although I found it on sale cheaper than syntec once in a while)

if you are changing your oil at 3000 miles in an 06 you are wasting a lot of money on oil, you should be following the maintainance minder on the dash which will tell you when to change the oil.
