motor mounts

RE: motor mounts
Ok,
My Neighbor who know about these kinds of things just went with me to the shop. He seems to think we can bac the broken bolts out and make the holes larger and just put a new mount in the old motor. There is a crack in the block but no oil is leaking out. He said that JB weld could be used to repair the block. He also said that they need to put locktight with the bolts to make them hold tight. Any body got any feedback on this info?
Thanks,
Dawn

RE: motor mounts
well if it doesnt leak and the mount is firmly inplace....
i would just keep saving $$ to buy a replacement motor WHEN/IF it ever busts off....
the motors got 5 mounts on it i believe. 1 weak one cannt hurt to much...

RE: motor mounts
So it doesn't need to be replaced because there's a welded motor mount.... it needs to be replaced because there's a crack in the block... Good luck with that, if you have to pay labor it's probably going to cost more than the car is worth, unfortunately. [&:]
