motors swap
Yes, it will need a different computer.
If you swapped in an engine from a 2000 Civic (which is OBD2b) into a 1994 Civic (which is OBD1), you'll need the correct computer for it as well as the wiring harness. It is possible to buy a conversion harness that will go between the main wiring harness and the computer to make it work.
It would help if we knew what kind of engine the new one was.

wait..........stop........
my question about what was yur previous motor wasnt answered.
no she does not need a p2p ecu or an obd2 harness or anything, thats all wrong.
she has a obd1 car. she can just use the d16y8 head and block and put EVERYTHING from the old motor onto the new engine. now if she has a ex model (d16z6 old motor) she will already be set up fro the vtec engine and everything will plug n play and she can use her old ecu (p28). now if she has a dx model and had the d15b7 motor she will need to find a p28 ecu and plug it up and run the 2 wires from vtec to make it work, and still swap everything over from the old motor and stay obd1.
