i put a post about the purring sound my 1997 honda civic 5 speed EX makes and i got a response. i am telling you now that it is a purring sound in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear that starts when i first start moving and stops when i get past 3000 RPMs what possible could that be

 

check your trann fluid to make sure your not low? Or drain your fluid and check for mettal shavings in the old fluid.
