is my theory right?
hi guys i know there are other threads about the speedometer issue but i felt startin this would get right to my question. ok so my speedometer randomly has been dropping to zero and springin back up to the current speed. to see if it was the speed sensor i turned on cruise control when the needle had been droppin pretty consistantly. the idea was that if the needle dropped and the culprit is the speed sensor the cruise control should turn off (since cc is linked to the speed sensor in some way if i'm not mistaken) because it'd see the car was technically stopped (0 mph) and if the cc stayed on it had to be the speedometer itself. well it dropped few times and cc remained on and workin perfectly. so does this diagnosis make sense and i know to change the speedometer or am i makin things up? heh
new speedo needed, aye-aye captain!!1
faulty speedos on older model civics are a common problem. it used to happen on my old 93 EG hatch.
you're gonna have to replace it eventually, so start saving some jack.

You can just swap in the speedo.
I'll have an extra one here in about a week, that you are welcome to. Dunno how many miles it'll have on it, and I don't know if it can be altered to read your true mileage on the car. But I'll ship it to ya if you just pay for the shipping.
