My daughter had a civic EX that was totaled by a hail storm and we replaced it with a 2003. Problem is....when we purchased the 2001 about a year ago it had a noise in the right front that sounded like a suspension component was about to fall off. I replaced the struts and this helped but the noise still could be heard slightly. Now to the present, this newer civic has the same problem. My question is, are the struts to blame or is there something else I need to look at. Does anyone else have this thumping noise when going over the slightest bump?

 

without hearing it I would bet there is a suspension bushing somewhere that is worn. Is it a softer thump (like hitting something with a rubber mallet) or is it more metallic/harsh sounding?
