Default NEED HELP!! Civic Question

I have a 2007 4-door Honda Civic, and I mean to carry my new kayak on the roof. I'm not using a roof rack and I intend on using pads and some heavy duty tie down latches.

I'm gonna be doing some highway driving and such and it occured to me I should probably, in addition to tying the kayak down in the middle, tie it down from the front and back for additional support. Does my car have these, and if it does, will it hold? Kayak is 60 pounds or so and it does get pretty windy here in Florida.

So again, some sort of tie down hooks in the front and back of my car?

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I'm going to be putting the kayak on foam bricks, placing one by the front roof support and the other by the rear. So no weight will actually be int he center of the roof. Does that make a difference.

there really isnt no "roof supports" id say it still will dent your roof but you might get luck just keep an eye on it.

This really doesn't sound like a good idea at all without a roof rack.

Don't do it without a roof rack to evenly spread the load. I just about guarantee it will dent the roof, Hondas are thin......
