first , check the coolant level in the radiator, when cold
if ok, run the car to make sure the thermostat is opening , feel both hoses, if both feel warm , then its opening , keep an eye on the temp guage if it goes hot shut it off and check your fuses, if not a fuse , then maybe a bad relay or bad temp sensor

when it happened to me i had to change my radiator. i looked at the radiator and saw it was cracked maybe by little stones flying into it or something. the car would keep revving and coolant was leakin out. i had stop at a pep boys and buy coolant to keep refilling it on my way home.
