hey. i have a 95 civic d16z6. heres my problem the car revs up and down constantly to lets say 2500. replaced iacv tps fast idle valve new throttle body NO vacuum leaks.....i need help.

 

Is the CEL ON?

Try bleeding the cooling system of possible trapped air:

 

hey thanks for your reply i appreciate your help. no there is not cel i bled the system and little tiny bubble were coming out but nothing to big. i bled so much that i needed to refil it. here is another thing when you hit the gas it jerks and when you let off the gas it jerks too. so i was thinking is there a shortage in the tps wire?

 

Did you calibrate the TPS? 0.5V closed/4.5V WOT

Also check whether the throttle cable is properly adjusted (not too tight or too loose).

 

yes i checked the throttle cable. i did not calibrate the tps. but when i unplug it it revs up to around 4000 if that helps.

 

Was the TPS replaced as part of a new throttle body? Or was a new TPS installed on the throttle body? If the latter is correct, then the TPS needs to be calibrated.

If the TPS is fine, then refocus on the IACV and Fast idle Valve. Is the port for the Fast Idle Valve in the throttle body still pulling air when the engine is warm? Check by putting your finger over it.

 

well the throttle body was off of ebay but what are the chances of getting another defect. a few days ago i ordered a brand new iacv it came in today and i tried it nothing but i never did check the port.

 

Yeah, you have to reconsider the obvious for the hunting idle problem:

-EACV/IACV
-Fast idle valve
-Vacuum/intake air leak
-Air in the cooling system
