need help please
I need help identifying a problem....
I ran my car hot about 4 months ago and the mechanic when through the motor and told me nothing was wrong except for a bad seal around the distributor, so he fixed that. When i got the car back there was no oil leaks and cranked fine..but after the motor would get hot and i would cut it off and try to re crank it, it would hesitate and sound like a tractor like it wasent firing on all 4 until i would give it gas and clear it out, and a ton of white smoke which im sure is coolant spills out of the exhaust...now i have have people telling me its a blown head gasket and I have people telling me its a cracked block...so im not sure...please give me your feedback, thanks.

It could be either, there is no way to be sure. To check for leaks in the engine take off the radiator cap (must be COLD!) then start the engine with the cap off and rev it. If air bubbles out constantly there is a problem. The next step is to take the head off and check the gasket, check the head and block for flatness, if that's OK put a new gasket on put it back together and see if there is still a leak.
