Default need new exhaust cams

hi, i have a 2002 si with 122k which i bought new ,it is stock and i always changed oil religously, my mechanic thought it was strange that the staglight on my exhaust cams wore out to the point that they need to be changed but my intake cams look fine. anyone heard anything about this, thanks paul

What's the "staglight"?

Maybe the oil passage over to that cam is blocked. Oil should come out of the holes in the cam when the engine is running. Oil should basically splash everywhere when running the engine with the valve cover off.
