Light would flash the last few days when i started the car. Now it's on all the time anyway to tell whats wrong?

 

go here and see if you can get the code otherwise, go get a code reader

 

Go to an autozone, advanced auto parts, some store like that and have them read the code for you.

 

If its the maintenance light, you will need to hold the button down right next to the odometer and turn the ignition key to run (not start) until the maint light turns off. Sometimes this light is confused with the check engine light (CEL). The CEL has the symbol of an engine.

 

SO YOUR SAYING I MIGHT NEED TO CHECK MY ENGINE?

 

No. The needs maintence light like GWL is saying is just commonly mistaken as a check engine light. If you have an actual Check Engine Light (CEL) Go to Autozone they check it for free. Otherwise if its just the needs maintence light its nothing too important. a lot of times its just a reminder that you need to change your oil.

 

I JUST CANT GET IT TO GO AWAY...ITS NOT THE CEL LIGHT.....HOW LONG I NEED TO HOLD THAT ODOMOTER RESET IN?

 

the maintainance light comes on when you are very close to getting your oil change. the car is letting you know. Trust me i have a 02 lx and it would be ON ALL THE TIME! It is soo annoying. WHen you get your oil change, ask them to reset it for you
