I have a 2006 Honda Civic LX and the A/C maybe checking out. When the cars been off for awhile the air works nice and cool. Here's what happens… If I accelerate sometimes after I’ve been driving for awhile, the A/C blows warm air or If I stop to run errnads the A/C will blow warm air after the 2nd or 3rd startup.

Can my mechanic fix whatever is going on or do I need a new A/C?

Depends on the problem. If it low on Freon, that is an easy fix. Could also be the clutch going out. Get it looked at soon, as most issues at this point can be repaired. If you let it go like I did and the compressor seizes, you need to replace most of the system due to contamination.

 

@TiggerDX - Thanks, I recently had freon put in. I'll the mechanic check the clutch.

 

Did you do it or have a pro do it. Mine was cause by me doing it myself and overfilling the system.

 

I purchased a Genuine Honda 39794-SDA-A05 Power Relay Assembly yesterday. I hope that that will work. Thanks for asking. I'll let you know the outcome when I try it.
