Default New Civic Motor

I just started looking into the new civics, not the Si, I don't want to pay for premium fuel, but I noticed they did away with the D series, are these other engines any good? I mean the D series have been around forever and have great mileage, it doesn't look like they have gained mileage out of it, just pondering whether they are good engines or not

i dont think they are as good of a quality. i think the best gen are from 92-95 and 96-00
after that honda got a little retarded. the new civics weigh so much and have way way more wiring and sensors.
