Default New engine

ok. so i lost compression in one of my cylinders. so it was either a head gasket job, hole in the piston, or a broken valve. correct? either way. i was going to need to take off the top portion of the motor to get to the pistons/valves and do a head gasket job. so i said f it. mine as well upgrade to a better engine. so im going with the d15z6. 1.6 vtec from an ex. im going to trade ecu and wiring harness with my brother who needs non-vtec ecu and harness. but my question is this. do i need to replace the axles, starter, distributer.
and is there anything else that i need to change.

thanks

update:
i dont know what to do now.
the new motore:
needs a dizzy, has a new block d15b? (cant see the last number), with a vtec head, looks like the vtec solenoid wire is cut, had a cardboard throttle body gasket, and i dont know what else might be wrong with it.

the old motor needs a head gasket, maybe a piston.
should i upgrade the car with the new motor. or fix the old motor and completely rebuild the new motor(mini me swap) wit the rods and pistons and everything?

the new motor (unless its a D15B) is already a mini-me swap-im not sure but you might have said this in previous post im not sure it was sorta confusing
and the cardboard gasket seems to be an attempt at a ghetto throttle body spacer. IMO that motor was probably beat on pretty bad by the previous owner

and BTW you will need the dizzy to match the head it doesnt matter which block it is

i have a vtec ecu for sale and as for the vtec swap i just did mine not to long ago
you will need a vtec dizzy because the 3 bolt holes on the vtec head dont match non vtec dizzy. also you will have to use your old nonvtec wire harness and just wire up the vtec and the knock sensor to the ecu. you can just have vtec (temp.) on a toggle switch all it is ...is 12v+ to vtec to make it kick on. if you have anymore question you can pm me.
but everything else is the same.

im pretty sure that i can get u the vtec dizzy from my local junkyard also.

Can't I just use the vtec wiring harness and swap it in. I have a vtec ecu. Just can't get it till next weekend. But I'm just going to keep my stock motor. Fix the problem. And rebuild the other motor. Has a fairly new rebuilt block. Ill just open her up to learn about it. And make sure they did everything right. So get ready for lots and lots of questions.

Update-One of the valves broke. Others had carbon build up on them. Just replacing that 1 broken valve and cleaning off the others.
