Could it be that the Heater Core is going out?

it really depends what your ECT sensor is reading.. if your gauge on your instrument cluster is showing a proper coolant temp, than it isn't your thermostat, if you are having a strong delay in reaching operating temp, or it doesn't reach it at all, then it is without a doubt your thermostat

normal is 180*, so 177 is fine. is your coolant level low? how long do you drive it without it moving off of low?

im putting in a 160 tomorrow.

Assuming that he got it fixed. I had the same problem, no heat. Checked the coolant, the core, all the lines, and the t-stat. Turns out that the levers and stuff underneath the dash had gotten off their tracks and weren't switching the little flap from cold to hot...I was just moving the temp slide, nothing else was moving......[sm=headbang.gif]

I was in luck there..........My dash STILL isn't put back together! I'll post pics soon. Maybe tomorrow or the next day. 4 day weekend [sm=w00t.gif]

I have a question that maybe you might know the answer to, Sacs, but I'll post it in a new thread so as not to jack this one!
