Default No Remote for Remote Start System

Hi all,

I recently purchased a 2004 Civic (4 dr sedan), which I was told had a Remote Start system installed but the previous owner did not have the actual remote.

What would be the best way to get this operational again? Obviously, I need a new remote, but unsure if I have to buy a new remote or can I program a spare remote that I have for another vehicle? Or should I buy a whole new system which would be much more expensive?

Thanks.

AFAIK, there was no factory remote start. The stock factory remote is a basic alarm and keyless entry. So you have some sort of aftermarket setup. You would need to find the "brain box" (usually installed under the dash) to see what brand of system is installed.

Thanks for your help. I'll check it out and maybe post the information back to so I can get some additional assistance.

Hi again,

Would anyone be able to tell me where my aftermarket main Remote Start box could be located?

Thanks.
