Default o2 Sensor..

I took my car to get my state inspection and they told me that my o2 sensor is at fault(PO135) so he told me he could reset it and that I would have to drive 20 miles to correct it, my question is would resetting fix it or would I have to fork out the 100 bucks for a new sensor?

Someone else told me that changing the oil would help me pass but I changed it only 2000 miles ago.

Sorry if there is a thread already like this but thanks for any help.

If your CEL is staying lit while you drive and that's the only code you have, it's going to need a new sensor. You can try resetting but the light is probably going to come back on after a drive. Your car will not pass if the CEL is on for any reason. Also you can't reset and go right back for a test before the light comes back on, because a code will be set indicating it has been recently reset, so it won't pass because of that.

It's a 97 Civic Ex.

Well I replace the sensor before the cat converter took it back to get re-tested and it failed with the same codes...Po135 and P1509 which is the o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 and my IAC valve...sooo I can't buy a new sensor and a new IAC valve my question is can I clean the IACV to make it work and what can I do about the o2 sensor even after I put a new one in?

MY CEL light doesn't work either.

Oh is the d16y8 a "vtec"?
