Default Oil in spark plug tube

Hi I have a friend who has a Civic. She has had problems starting her car. I removed the spark plugs intending to replace them. No. 2 plug had oil up to the base of my plug socket. This is obviously the reason for hard starting and rough running. My question is How did the oil get there. Could it be a cracked head or perhaps careless filling when getting serviced.

Sounds like one of the gaskets went out. Not too hard or expensive to repair. Cost me ~$30 to do myself. Just replace the entire valve cover gasket. Make sure to get the whole kit, including the 4 rings and what not. There should be a writeup on how to do this in the DIY section.
