well im not using stop leak, its something highly recommended to seal the head and has good reviews from many people. im sure its similar to stop leak though... I bought the car for 1200 bucks and im buying a new car without 210,000 miles on it so im not sinking money into it just to make it till something else goes wrong... also runs poorly, randomly shuting off, and rusty so dont think im junking a nice car over here lol

When my head gasket blew I did the work myself and the only cost was $28.00 for the gasket itself. (I reused the bolts and the other gaskets). Many of the "magic in a cans" cost more than that.

Default 95 honda civic dx pushs water into overflow tank

hi. i have a 95 honda civic dx 1.5.
the begaining of my problems was it over heated alot and every time i stop i would have to put water in it. well i changed the radiatior cap, put a new termostat in it, and replaced the head gaskit. then i still had a problem overheated at idle or not moveing, driveing it was normal, only when i stopped. then i noticed the fan wasnt working and fixed it.
now it takes a while to over heat, but when it does its low on coolant, the thing is that it blows it out of the overflow which leads to over heating. i flushed the engine, i done all i know that i can do to it. the only thing i can think of now is cracked head or block. i dont have alot of experiance with hondas. and i did all by the book. is there anything else that it could be? and answers will be a big help. thank you for your time

my email is danieltoler1988@yahoo.com
just incase i cant find my way back here.

Check for leaks in the engine by starting it (cold) with the radiator cap off and revving it. If bubbles and/or coolant blow out of the radiator there is a problem. Overheating the engine is prone to warp the head or block so a new head gasket will just blow again.

Also read https://www.hondacivicforum.com/foru...sterday-94086/ this thread about repeated head gasket failure.
