Default P0420 After Distributor Replacement

Background:

For a few months, the car would have intermittant hesitation while accelerating, it seemed it always happened when it was raining or there was alot of moisture in the air. On the 4th of July of all days, it took a dump and needed towed. I saw it wasn't getting spark, so replaced the distributor, and the battery while i was at it.

Car runs great, but yesterday the CEL came on. I pulled the code, and it's telling me P0420 Catalyst Below Efficiency Threshold (Bank 1). The car is running just fine, and i cleared the code and it hasnt returned yet. I assume the cat is bad somehow, but is there any connection between the dizzy replacement and this CEL code?

Thanks in advance,
Colin

Not that I know of. Let us know if it comes back on.

If the code doesn't return, you're good to go.
