Default Distributor rotor replacement.

I bought a nifty little transparent distributor cap, and a new rotor to go along with it, as part of my tune-up. The original rotor is within tolerance, but I got a new one to replace it with anyways. I went ahead and replaced the cap (it fit perfectly, so no problems there, and it looks cool as hell because you can see the sparks, especially when you rev it). My Haynes manual doesn't have instructions strictly for replacing a rotor, only the entire distributor. They're prolly in there somewhere....the instructions basically go from removing the cap right into removing the assembly itself, which I'm afraid to do myself because I'll probably end up futzing my timing or something., so that is where I stopped reading. Basically, I wanna know if you can remove the rotor without taking off the entire distributor. Is this possible? BTW, I have a D16Y8 with a TEC dizzy. Thanks.

all you have to do is take the cap off and look at the rotor there is a little bolt on thereif you cannt get to it just click the motor over alittle by turning the key but dont start the car just so the motor turns a little so you can get to the bolt then unbolt it and pry the old rotor off
