Default Want To Upgrade Distributor Cap & Rotor, Plugs, Plug Wires, etc.

My 94 Ex has 176k miles. I changed my timing belt, drive belts, oil, water pump, &tranny fluid yesterday. The car runs stronger than ever. The old timing belt looked good, but didn't have very much tension. I also retareded the timing a bit, it pulls harder then before.

But my distributor has a slight leak. SoI wanna replace the dist cap & rotor, plugs & plug wires. I was thinking of a MSD set up, possibly with an external coil. Any have any feddback, or maybe another suggestion. Thanks!

i had msd ignition and external coil and wires and all that in my del sol loved it. it responded so much better but get ready to spend some cash. mine broke down drivin out of town for work and with no tools had to get it towed and the shop wouldn't look at so i just replaced it to stock til i got the time to fix it.

Waste of money for your setup IMO. Buy OEM.

having this setup in my car, I disagree..(external coil, etc)the difference is subtle, but it definately made my car run smoother, idle, etc......plus you could regap your plugs for a bigger spark. I'd get a aftermarket grounding kit along with this...
