Hey everyone, I have looked around the site, but haven't found a specific answer to the question I have. Is it street legal to have a JDM engine? Specifically in CT. Will it pass emissions? For example, if I bought a JDM H22A as opposed to an USDM, would they limit it to off-road use only?

I'm pretty sure its legal, I plan on getting a jdm b16 and from what ii hear its legal, the inspection in japan is more strict than the united states..... U can search out the japanese inspection..... Its called ken-sha

 

I had a H22Aon my Accord Wagon.. pass smog (emission) as long as it pass visual inspection, just a little heavy on the weight but drive fine..

 

you really need to check with what the rules are in your state (and don't listen to anyone who doesn't live in CT!)
