Default P1259 code on 01 Honda Civic EX

Getting a P1259 code pulled when my check engine light goes on. Dealer reset it and did some tests without it coming back. Said possibly a stuck spool valve.

2 days later and the check engine light is back on. Any suggestions with the P1259? Thanks.

Running great and I have no previous problems. Went on a business trip and couple days after I got back I get the check engine light. have seen posts where the car was running low on oil but I checked the level and it was at the second mark as it should be. Like I said the dealer mentioned a stuck spool valve as a possibility.

There is no mods to the engine, all stock.

Default I'm Having the Same Issue

My '01 Civic EX with 246K miles has the P1259 code as well. I have done no troubleshooting at this point. I am looking for information to get started on that would add to the solution of this original thread which will probably assist in the solution of my issue as well.

The car is running well and I have a seemingly unrelated code of P0420 ongoing.

the P1259 code could be from a dirty clogged vtec solenoid follow the cleaning DIY here DIY: forgotten tune-up mods - Honda Civic Forum
as for the p0420 that is from a faulty oxygen sensor or cat.

Thank you for the help on this. I checked with a friend and learned that the VTEC operates on oil pressure. I amaware that many know this and I'm learning more all the time. He suggested to change my oil. I did. Cleared the code and it has not returned. Not sure this may help your issue. At any rate, I found this info helpful.
