94civichatchback: The ebay seller from the link you sent me, said that you are correct about the "P2E" portion of the part number being the most important part of the two part numbers that need to match (I didn't doubt you, I was checking to see if it would be plug and play). He went on to tell me that the computer would have to be reprogrammed for my car. My question is, is the reprogramming something that only the dealership can do, or can a local shop do this as well? Also, do you know approximately how much it would cost to have the computer reprogrammed?

Thanks again for all your help and everyone's help!

it dont need to be reprogrammed, it will run your car fine, the p2e is what engine it runs, and the 3rd set of numbers tells what trans it runs, any thing 51 and below runs manual trans and anything 52 and up runs auto trans.

its plug and play i guarantee it to work fine.

Okay, I'll try it that way. I really hope you are right. Reprogramming they told me was $104. Thanks again!!

I could tell you weren't one of those types of import owners. You seem way too knowledgeable to be like that. Hence why I took your word for it and are going with what you suggested. USPS says the computer should be here tomorrow by 3pm. Cutting it close, but hopefully I'll have my car back tomorrow!

The computer I bought off of ebay you suggested worked just as you said it would. Plug and play and everything worked how it is suppose to. Unfortunately, it did not fix the problem. The car still bogs and stalls. Any other suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

This is kind of a shot in the dark. But check your EGR valve and EGR ports. I worked on a car that was having the same problems you are having and the EGR valve was stuck open do to carbon build up inside of it. After it would die you could restart it and it would die unless you rev it up as soon as it starts. You can just pull it off and look at it. Like i said its a shot in the dark but it might be something simple like that.

I talked to my mechanic and he is going to check the EGR valve and EGR ports tomorrow. Thank you for the advice!
