That's the problem though. I already have a trunk rack from my old car and because of the stock spoiler on the civic, the trunk rack doesn't mount well. The top padded rollers have to go under the spoiler, and then only just. It's too tight a squeeze for my taste.

Still, that's not good that the sheet metal the hitch would bolt to can't support the load. Is this the general consensus, that it's a bad idea? I probably won't have more than 2 bikes on there at a time, but still...I don't want to push it.
